Broken exterior temp. gauge?

I'm having an interesting issue with my car. Tonight I was driving home on the highway and all of a sudden the car beeped at me, and the outside temperature display registered -40 F. A second later it switched to +122 degrees. It kept beeping at me and alternating between the two most of the way home. Then it said 19 degrees. It kept changing rapidly. When I got home it read +52 degrees. Let me tell you, it is NOT 52 degrees outside. More like 12. It seems obvious that its the exterior temperature gauge, but could it be some sort of computer error?

It's Mother Nature going through menopause - hot & cold flashes. You can't say she hasn't been a bitch around here lately!

Well, you know the old saying.. "You're in New Hampshire. If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes." Mother Nature is apparently having a temper tantrum right now, because it's something like -5 with the wind chill right now. The wind is so loud it literally sounds like Logan Airport is in my back yard.

  I'd say that sounds like what the problem could be

Yeah - no kidding! I suspect the real problem is with the sensor though - perhaps an intermittent connection. Electrical problems in cars have always been difficult for me to diagnose & fix. You may want to give it a few days to see if it corrects itself, otherwise, it sounds like a trip to go see your buddies over at Tulley.

Hey, how's the pool coming along these days? Got any new progress pics?

I looked at the car. There are some big scratches on my bumper and there was a bunch of stuff hanging.. It almost looks like someone hit me kind of hard in a parking lot, and drove away.. I haven't hit anything lately. The only wire hanging looked an awful lot like a sensor. And it looks like it's been dragging against the road. Problem solved.

The pool is coming along well.. I'll take some pics and post them in a while. I just need to make sure the workmen are gone. It's awkward when they randomly pop out and say hi. Scares the bajeezus out of me.
