Repair Manual

:rippedoff Help!!! I just took my 2001 X5 in to fix the check engine light, and the passenger door lock. 1156.40. This was 388.00 in parts and the rest labor. They claimed I needed a Camshaft position sensor, 02 sensor, and a MAP Thermostat. I wish I had a repair manual!!! I feel like i'm getting hosed on this one. I was a mechanic through high school and college and it does not seem like this is a hard fix. not almost 800.00 in labor.

So I've looked all over and can't find an authentic BMW repair manual for my X5. Anyone know where to get a PAPER manual? CD manuals are ok, but when i'm in the garage a paper manual is best. I'd take a CD manual to kinko's and have them print it out if it was an authentic BMW manual. Please someone help!!

wow...that's a lot of labor costs. taking out the door panel have have cost a lot, and i'm not sure what else you do for the other repairs. there are some manuals located in x5world, but i'm not sure you'll be able to find one.

sorry for being "gyped."

yea, I feel like they are charging me way to much to replace these items.

I have a 4.4i, is the sensor in the same place?

I just told the dealer to fix all the problems this afternoon, I feel like calling them to get the truck back and doing it myself for this kind of money.

If you are experienced and want to mess with it.
Maybe so. Or find a local guy to do it cheaper.
