That's what I first thought too because my other bmws' oil filters are on top. However, that's not the case with the 2005 4.4i. At least not for North American models. Ah, I am sorry. I forgot that the facelifted 4.4 has the filter on the bottom. I have a pre-face lift 4.4 with the filter on the top, so that is what I think of when I hear 4.4. Just like when I think of the alternator for the 4.4 I think of my water cooled version while the facelift 4.4 is different as well.

I was told that the doors are not available separately. You can only get them when you buy the entire shield/stiffener...
