one way to narrow down the list of x5's available is to search for the data for "4.8". at the top of the page, you can click "Search" and then filter the data so that you only see the 4.8 prices. not ideal, but it does get you the detail you need.

the free options are exactly why i buy used. they are worth nothing in the used market!

me too. used is the way to go - you get to save all that cash from the depreciation.

for BMWs, the new to used prices in the first 2 years is a pretty steep drop.

For instance, a 4.8is fully loaded 2005 is going to go for way more than a 3.0 bare bones.

Just my 2 cents.

Whoa, cpatzer, been awhile since you posted! Any more accidents? I hope for your sake there aren't.

Actually BMW residuals are very good. Every new car has depreciation. It's personal preference on whether to buy used or new. Unless you get a BMW deal when they do the 1.9% financing on a CPO on a particular model, used rates are 6.0%. So, you aren't paying much less than if you did the .9% BMW is doing on new cars now. Plus you aren't driving a 7 year old and still making payments on it vs. buying new and driving a 5 year old car that is paid off. Like I said it's personal preference.

payments? what are those??

I guess i saved enough buying used to not have payments....

Buying a 2 year old BMW will not depreciate enough for you to save enough vs. buying it new to pay cash next time around. If it depreciates $12K the first 2 years that is only a payment savings of $200 a month on a standard 5 year loan vs. new. Which equates to approximately $12K saving vs. new--you can pay cash on another BMW with that ?
