Aux Input for Feb 02 (2002) X5 3.0?

I have a phatbox (40 gig drive that hooks to cd changer input) hooked up already, but was wondering if the 2002 X5 can handle an 'AUX' input also. I saw the post on the front page but it says 2002's from 10/02 and up. Can the 02/02 production date handle a separate AUX input? Thanks for the help.

no. 2002 model radios are slightly different from the 2003s; you will not be able to install an auxiliary input. you can always go with dice

Only way using the factory equipment is to replace your 2002 radio module with a 2003 or newer radio module. (note: 10/02 is the start of production for the 2003 model year)

When you say radio module, do you mean the Business CD component? It appears that has the radio module in the cd player. Do you have the part number for the component I need? Thanks.

No, no Aux input in 2002 model. Do you have the model with in dash CD or cassette? If your X is equipped with a cassette player a very valid, simple and cheap solution to get an Aux input is to use a cassette adapter. Pick the right cassette adapter as some have noisy wheels. I have been using a cassette adapter to connect my mp3 player for 13month now, listening to music everyday, the sound is great and there is no wheel noise.
I passed the cassette adapter's wire behind the radio unit, inside the central column and central armrest so as there is no visible wire. My MP3 player is in the armrest box. This is a good use of the cassette player which otherwise would be totally useless

I have the Business CD, not tape deck. For the 2005 cd player, does this have inputs for cd player itself, and radio of cousrse, but also a cd changer, an Aux input, and Sirius satellite? Any other model year fit in an '02 and have the above inputs available?
