Estimated Cost on 20" and fitment re: fender flares

Im trying to figure out what would be reasonable price for the 20' wheels and tires that came on the "is" models. They are the star pattern ones, I think they call them 132's.

Just wondering what I should expect to pay..

Also if I go the ebay route which seller is the one that most of you guys have used? I dont mind used wheels nor scuffs and stuff. After all they re wheels and they will get scuffed..

Oh last question, since my 02 x5 has the BMW AERO Package do I have still have to get the fender flares to keep the mud splashing up on the side of the car?

Anyways, just trying to see what I am up against!

Thank you

The wheels on the 4.8is are style 168 and are not 5 spoke. The style 132 are star bt 19" only.

As for the fender flares, this does not apply to your X5 since you have the aero kit. You can remove the aero kit and add the flares though.

Thanks for the info..

I dont think I want to remove the AERO kit.I think it looks 10x better with the kit than with the fender flares or plain.

I dont see many with the Aero kit, is it something that is not so popular or is it not considered cool?

I think it makes it look beefy !!!!:smokin:

Yeah, the 20s should do just fine under the aero kit. You don't even need the 4.6 flare arches for the wheels to sit under the flares.

As for the aero kit, many people prefer the 4.6/4.8 body kit instead. For some reason, the aero kit reminds me of the toyota 4 runner.

If you are talking about the style 87's which are a 20' wheel that came on the "is" I just got a brand new set with tires for 1795 shipped to my door in DC. They look awesome!!

Nice deal! Do you have any pics of them? And hows the ride with them?

midwesterner 03-02-2007 11:07 PM

Pics are coming....

I will post pics later this weekend. I think the ride is not bad in terms of roughness, but the handling has gone up ten fold compared to the 17's that came on the X5.

My wife drives the X5 everyday and could not tell difference when I mounted the 20's

I would highly recommend them......
