Yes, did you search the forums here for the size info?

djbock 03-04-2007 12:54 PM

Driver 424A
Passenger 422A
Rear 418B, might have to install new rear arm.

Seems like most folks get them from AdvanceAuto.

True for the fronts, but for an 01' they won't show a # for the rear

The reason is that most X5's in 01' had the plastic wiper arm. The plastic arm doesn't have the "hook". If you put the metal arm on then you need to look up a newer model like an 03' or 04' to get the correct part number. KewlX5 discovered this ;) Charles has a 01' I think, Michelle has an 01' and I have an 02', we all had to replace the plastic arm with the metal one in order to be able to use the Icon. I'm still waiting for Charles to do the full on writup on this so the info. is in one place ;).

We have an 01 too. Normally I'd be interested, but since we're selling soon I'll pass. Might be something I'd get for my Prelude. Do they last longer than the other Bosch blades?

No clue Viggie

vinuneuro 03-04-2007 02:23 PM

The reason I ask that they're substantially more. If it's just a marginally better wipe and spiffier look, I'll pass once again..

I just put mine on finally. It took all of two minutes.

Question, is there a way to retro fit the air scoop from the stock left wiper onto the icon? I really like the way it looks and would love to put it on. I remember someone talked about this before but cant remember if it can be done.

What? Air scoop?

vinuneuro 03-04-2007 04:18 PM

I used to think the same thing...I really liked the wind deflector, but after having the Icons for several months, I can't imagine it being there. The Icons are a great look all on their own!

Are the wipers in the X5 really that substandard? :dunno:

The Icons are just that good. No need to be a cheapo when you're talking about visibility and safety.

X3's front and rear wipers work fine and they've never chattered once. The only time it got bad was when the wiper inserts were going bad on the trip to Montreal from all the crap thrown up on the windshield. Indeed, we did stop by Park Ave. BMW in Canada and asked how much for the wiper inserts. $15 CDN each......eh we passed.

The drivers side wiper didnt even touch the middle of my winsheild leaving a huge spot right in my line of sight! I tried bending them a little bit when I got to work....nothing...still have the huge spot.

WTF?! Thank god I kept my OEM ones as they are going right back on when I get home.

Hold on wilburn, you forgot to "remove" that little "U" shaped guide on the wiper arm. Grab some pliers and pull it out. It will work perfectly once you do that ;)

Erf...the little metal piece on the wiper arm? I tried moving the wiper in front and behind it but that made no difference. Ill see if I can find some pliers or something around here.

I really wanted these to work, so it was kinda a dissapointment this morning. Plus this added with idiot drivers and traffic made my commute hell. Thank god for Starbucks.

Once you yank it out, they will work perfectly

DOH! I just last evening returned $60-some dollars worth of Bosch Icons because I had the same problems JWilburn had, i.e. the driver's side wiper skipped over the middle of the windshield (the area directly ahead of my eyes) and did a generally crappy job. Although the other two worked awesomely (as do the Icons on my wife's 325i), I didn't want to use two Icons and the OEM non-Icon wiper, so I returned them. Now I need to go retrieve them :) Thanks for the info!
