Price for problems...

My dealership is telling me that for each of these problems with my X5, it is going to cost $170 each to fix. Is this right? The problems are below.

1. Left turn signal is going twice the speed of the right signal. They said something about a bulb being out???
2. Horn sounds like a little girl's pink toy car!

Both aren't covered under the CPO. What a crock!

I have yet to have a bulb go out in the x5 but when a bulb goes out on most vehicles the turn signal will flash rapidly. Replace your burnt bulb..

For your horn issues.. Install horns below.

Same here. U have one bad bulb. Do a visual and then change out the offending one.

On your horn, I believe there is a *high & a low* horn. One of them is bad. Swap out and you're all set. Same horn issue happened to me as well...

wow, $170 to change a $2.50 bulb...I sometimes cannot fathom how they get away with this kind of nonesense

I changed the rear tail light bulb, and it cost $115, I think. The SA said that if the car was not under warranty, it would be something like $400!

WHAT ? It's just a bulb ? Remove from bulb socket housing, pop in new bulb and put socket housing back in ?

Am I missing something here. I would understand if it was a front turn signal, where there is actually WORK required....

Might need a letter to BMW NA on $170.00 for burned out light bulb:confused:

I have the same issue. Front signal replacement is not as easy as pop out bulb and replace. There is a tutorial on the home page. I planned to have my dealer replace, but are they really charging for this? This should be covered or at the very least a courtesy provided by the dealer.

Actually, after re-reading the OP's thread it may be unclear whether it was the front or rear bulbs.

Maybe CPO does not cover it....
Ie; CPO does not cover axle boots , front bushings, which I have problems with but luckily, I'm still under New Car Warranty, in which it does.

it could be that they need to change the entire housing because of corrosion. i had mine changed because of corrosion, but that was under the new car warranty...
