Orange LED light on driver door not on

Hi all, does anyone know what has to be done to fix the little orange light just behind the inside door open handle.

unfortunately, you have to take apart the entire door panel...

Repost:

If this is your first time, my advice is to pay close attention to the LED light when removing the door panel. It's the small light that lights up the door handle area. It's tough to see and easy to break and I don't think it's mentioned in any of the otherwise excellent articles explaining how to dismantle the door panel (if it is I missed it and learned the hard way). Once you get the panel loose at the bottom you'll have to reach up between the panel and the now exposed foam and find the wire near the door handle. The light plugs in facing the opposite direction from what you see behind the interior handle. It plugs into a clear plastic piece that works kind of like fiber optics to carry the light from the direction it faces to what you see before the panel is removed.

As for the suggestions on removing the foam, I haven't tried the other suggestions, but I used a small sharp razor to carefully cut the bead without cutting the foam. When I replaced the foam I simply stuck the foam panel back in place and applied pressure along the length of the bead which seemed to work great.

More likely, the fragile clip that holds it in place broke so the light is dangling by it's wires. I glued mine back in place and they are working fine.

well i hope it's something simple like that...thanks TOMAZ:rofl:

broknlgs24 03-26-2007 09:12 PM

they aren't the same piece. they are 2 pieces.
the door handle is completely separate from the
orange led.

jbimmer24 03-26-2007 09:31 PM

 so it separates from that back housing....?

broknlgs24 03-26-2007 09:44 PM

as i performed the BSW Stage I upgrade, i broke that clear
plexi-glass piece that was mentioned b4. the part i ordered
from Morristown was just the door handle. it DID NOT come
w/ the bulb. right now, i have my door panel off and the
orange LED is still lit and hanging from the door. meanwhile,
the door handle is sitting in my house, along w/ the rest of
the door panel; so, i'm not sure how they are saying it's one
piece.:dunno:

So what is the part number for these leds? Both my front door handle lights are out. I will be changing the speakers soon, so the door panels will be off.

I know the thread is old, but need the info.

If you click on both links above you'll see
