Finally, It's Here

After 2+ months of waiting, finally took home the 4.4 on Saturday. it's an '05 sterling gray/sp pkg/prem pkg/cold weather pkg/rear climate pkg/19's. overall the car is amazing. but i'm already thinking bout performance mods. any suggestions? also, looking to swap out the oem speakers for some MB Quartz (they seem the least expensive). i would post some pics but i have no idea how to resize the pics.

The Aluminum Running Boards are always a good look.

NICE!!! exactly the same as mine except for the rear climate package. congrats.

Looks great. Congratulations.

Sterling grey is a fine color choice, and those 132's rock. I, too, vote for the aluminum running boards.

Here's a link for the MB-Quarts install. I've heard them, and I want them. The sound is absolutely phenomenal, especially with the Dynamat sound deadening treatment. Just awesome.

Good luck with your new ride.

thanks for all the big ups fellas. any suggestions for performance mods, not looking to supercharge. additional 10-15 hp would make me happy.

Great looker , enjoy. I noticed that you also have the orange corners in the front turn signals. I have a 2004 and thought the 2005 had clear. What is the picture in the BMW accesories catalog that shows clear front turn signals?

BAVM3 - If it's new and BMW, then it's Dinan to keep the warrantees in place - guess your looking at an S2 upgrade (S3 uncludes turbo) - figure $8-9K - have one scheduled for my 2001 X5 4.4i blue/beige SP when it comes in from the east coast - I'm sure there are other more experienced owners out there who can give you some tips - I'm still learning and have limited choices here in Idaho. Good Luck with it!

Congrats! Looks Great! Get the clear bra ASAP.

BAVM3 06-22-2005 02:54 PM

tks for all the input fellas..i think ima just install some MB Quartz for now and leave everything else stock. seems like every performance mod worth getting costs too much for what it can do. but i'll keep the forum updated if i do something big.

DINANM3 06-22-2005 04:48 PM

Looks great. got the same exact X5 but Mine is Black. But after trying to keep the black clean i wish i got the grey like yours. Dinan should be coming out with underdrive pulleys which should only be a few hundred dollars and a cold air intake with chip. That is what i am waiting for.

=)

I just bought a saphire black 4.4i w/ Sp/Pr/CW/RCl packages, and Nav. I've had it for a month, and I'm absolutely thrilled! :D
Coming from a 328Ci previously, I was interested in getting the most possible in the handling department, so I went with Dinan camber plates and strut brace - which I highly recommend. (I will probably do some Dinan intake/exhaust mods in the future, but the handling was my first priority). Other than that, I did the full 3M Invincisheild kit, the Diamon-Fusion window treatment, and, last but not least, DVD/TV on the Nav screen - oh yeah!
By the way, I love the 19" #132's also... I have the Sp package 18" #74's, but I plan on getting the 132's along with the alum. running boards and flared fr/r fenders at some point.

Enjoy!
