is it normal to feel the gear change?

Hi, I had to floor it from a dead stop and when engine went to around 4k to 5k rpm I was able to feel the gear change. Is this normal? I ask this because normally I don't feel it "that much". my x is 03 3.0i auto. Thank in advance :)

Yea its normal. I can feel most of the gear changes around town too, although they're not terribly hard or annoying. In fact, I appreciate a firmer gear change when its full throttle/high-rpm shift.........feels less like you're just "oozing" around in a Lexus.

Totally normal when you FLOOR an automatic. Same as with a manual you are slamming through the gears.
