X5 Acceleration doesnt feel the same???

As of late my x5 doesnt feel like its accelerating as quickly as it first did when i got it. It could be that im just use to the power now but it feels sorta delayed in the response as well as picking up speed. I do have a very heavy foot i must say..By the way its a 2002 x5 4.4 sports package 87,000KM.

at what KM are the spark plugs suppose to be changed??

Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem.

Thanks

Could be fuel delivery. How is your gas mileage compared to when it was more responsive? Inspection II changes plugs at 60K miles (KM?).

Not unless you plan on paying for it. Per BMW, the plugs should be changed at 100k.

To the OP:

-How's your gas mileage?
-What'r your tire pressures at?
-Is your air filter clean?

Just going off the Maintenance Schedule posted on x5world, vinuneuro.

And, the performance benefits of new plugs at 87KM, which can be installed by anyone with the right tools and information, is worth the $100. IMO of course.

Platinum plugs easily last 100k miles. It's an unnecessary expense, before that.

Understand that certain plugs can last that long and may be unnecessary to change earlier but the OP is complaining about sluggish acceleration. If he has had a sudden drop in MPG it may be prudent to change them now. And, we don't know how long the OP has had the car or if different plugs were installed in it.

Suggestion: If X cars have a different maintenance procedure than non-X perhaps X5world could post it up as a sticky for us new owners.
