washer fluid cap
i was filling up my washer fluid and somehow i managed to drop the cap that goes on the plastic tank down in the engine compartment. does anyone have a part number for this.
|
Same thing happened to me.. Damn thing comes off so easily.. But I went under the car to get it with the help of a flashlight and one of those tiny grabber thing.. Sorry no part number but try going to Crevier BMW web site and they have the part search feature...

No, but in the meantime, cover it with some Saran Wrap
and a rubber band and it will work fine for awhile. The engine heat will deteriorate the fix, but will keep it covered for awhile. GL,mD |
See if this is usefull:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=61&fg=45&hl=1 I did a search for my 03 3.0; just go backwards and select yours if different regards |
Wow, I am always scared of dropping stuff in there, hope it doesn't melt or anything inside the engine compartment...
Arent there holes at the bottom? Couldn't you take a hose and blast them through there? Just my 2cents... |
As a side note, I wonder why BMW stopped including the strainer for the reservoir (shown as part # 5) after 9.2000 ?

www.bavauto.com has them listed. Go to under the hood and tune up section on the search menu. List for $1.95.

I did what you did 6 months ago. It is 2 bucks and your dealer will likely have them stocked. My parts guy said they stock them cause this always happens.
