Running boards

Anyone have experience with these aftermarket bolt-on running boards? They are so much cheaper than the $1800 the dealer quoted me to install the OEM boards and fender flares for my 4.8is.

They're also junk. Give Nick a call at Morristown BMW - $500 and change for the OEM running boards...

Chuck, buy the running boards from Morristown BMW and do the install yourself. It is quite easy and you will have all the help you need from this forum. There has to be some family member or friend who is handy who could help with the install!

i think the point is that he is not tryin to spend 500-600 to buy bmw running boards w/the flares.. even though those ones on ebay are way to expensive.. i saw the same excact ones for like 150-200$

about the add-on running boards from ebay? when u screw them in, do they go into the plastic, so if u were to remove them would u be able to see the holes?

Hummm.... I think he was shocked at hearing the $1,800 number. The $550 sounds a hell of a lot better!! ;)

I have the 4.8is, and they tell me I need to order front and rear fender flares @ $220 each set to replace the 4.8is flares, then to buy the oem r/bs for $600, plus 5 hours of labor. I'm pretty handy and my best friend is a mechanic, so I could save on labor. The previous threads here say the same thing about the extra price for fender flares.

You should check with Nick at Morristown for prices on everything, and if you're handy, do it with your buddies yourself. I know Nick can easily beat the $600 for the running boards, and I'd be willing to bet you'll love his price for the flairs too! Good luck!

I've emailed them and haven't heard back yet.
