Where is the part number on X5 seats located? Did seats of different types or years come with different grains to the leather? The sport seats in my 02 X5 4.6is seems to have smooth leather while I have seen some other X5 seats that have much more of a grain to the leather.

on my 4.6is they are like a suede in the middle.

Optional on the 4.6 were sport seats with either black and white or red checked suede inserts.

The seats I am curious about are not suede. They are different than the ones in my X5 4.6. They have a real texture to the grain of the leather. The ones in my 4.6 have a smooth texture.

Nothing in RealOEm.com about the texture of the leather.

00-02 3.0 and 4.4 have Montana Leather
02-03 4.6 has Nappa Leather (some with Alcantara inserts)
03-06 3.0 and 4.4 have Dakota Leather
04-06 4.8 has Nappa Leather (some with Alcantara inserts)

all have different textures

You know almost everything and very cool in response.
I have another question regarding the SEATS...mines are SPORT SEATS, and I've many times noticed the Backrest Pocket (OEM ones, not accessories) on the Sport ones. So mine hasn't got this pocket (which is as per my opinion is very useful)...how I can add/retrofit it?

There were three options of seats, (2000 year model)
Standard
Comfort (omly difference I could see is Lumnbar support control)
Sport (Better side bolsters and Pull out leg support)

Two differing leather grains (all 4.4's to come with leather)
One smooth and one rough ( I am at work and my brochure is at home so cannot remember the names)

Where can you find the part number on a seat???
