Adjustable steering assist?

Can some one inform me of the changes made in the power steering system of the 4.6is to make the assist greater than that in the 4.4 and 3.0 ?
Pump change? Ratio change? Rack change?

Probably need to change the entire system, if you can even do that. IIRC, the 4.6is has the old recirculating ball type power steering, which I remember was the one low point on a 4.6is I tried out.
