you will see your countdown to your oil change when your key is in the 2nd spot in the ignition before you turn the car on. After you turn the car on it goes away.........
|
oh...ok. That makes sense. The dealership told me I might have a bulb burnt out. I notice that there seems to be 5 green bars, 1 yellow, and 1 red. When I turn the key to the second spot I only see the last two green bars lite up and the previous 3 are not, neither are the yellow and red. Is this normal or should all green bars be lite up up to the last one since I have the last two lite up?

no...all the green bars will soon or a later dissapear- the less green bars the closer you get to your oil change. After your oil change tey have to reset the computer and then all the green bars will come back.
|
I understand. So, just to get this straight....since I only have the last 2 green bars...once they are gone, then I will get the yellow to come up, and then the red?
|
yes- but i wouldnt wait until the yellow one comes on to get your oil changed.....do it before your green bars run out.

Perfect, I truly appreciate this. For a while I thought something was going crazy with my X. Thanks again.

Mileage on your 2002? Seems to be running fine? My SES light came on my 2001 because the cam sensor went bad. I seem to notice afew others have noted this error. It just maybe a bad sensor, somewhere.

It has 79000 miles on it. A lot of driving from the previous owner. It does seem to be running fine...same as it has prior to the light coming on. I am thinking about taking it to a BMW mechanic I know that does side jobs to see if he can figure it out.
