I bought mine on Ebay from these guys: http://stores.ebay.com/bavarian-auto...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

You can get it cheaper from Morristown! Ask for a RFQ in the Morristown Forum... talk to Nick.
Looks like you have a 4.6is? ... skid plate won't fit over your spoiler.

Zerochief your mods are nice...wow. I got the Remus exhaust too back in May when I 1st upgraded to my 4.4 from my old 3.0. So much nicer isn't it? I added the Dinan software too but am thinking about their cold air kit vs other cold air kits. What is your take on the one you installed? Did you do it yourself? How do you like it? Here's my baby..Xenons and everything. I agree GET the Xenon interior lights...it will set off your titanium interior nicely!

See ya Rob

zerochief 09-16-2007 06:38 PM

Nice X Rob... thanks for the feedback. I'm no expert on CAI's... but the magnaforce AFE seems to perform great. If you don't have a CAI, I'd recommend getting one. How's that Dinan software?

JohnD 09-16-2007 06:40 PM

looks like zerochief caught the mod bug... So just how many mods have you made over the past few weeks? Your X looks Xcellent!! I have been debating on whether or not to get the titanium trim for the interior - now that you have it in, do you think it was worth the price - my concern with with getting it would be buyers remorse.

Keep up the outstanding work

zerochief 09-16-2007 07:07 PM

The "mod bug"

Thanks JohnD... yes I got the "mod bug" :bmw: and I caught it from this website! Yeah your right the titanium interior kit was a border-line buyers remorse risk. I'll let you know later! ... but for now I'm diggin' it :smokin:

JohnD 09-17-2007 06:29 AM

ZeroCheif, how hard was it to put the trim kit in? I am trying to decide my next mod and it is a toss up between the interior kit or exhaust

cmyX6go 09-17-2007 06:54 AM

The clear corners look awesome on a silver X. Damn that mod bug. It's a disease

The trim kit is easy to remove/install especially if you have some plastic extractor tools ($19 at EAS)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/im...olgen_main.jpg

or you can use a plastic puddy knife. Installing the center console piece is the hardest, but not that bad. Just follow this:
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/i...le-bmw-x5.html

However, I would go for the exhaust first!

mdrobc13 09-17-2007 11:16 PM

Zerochief
Thanks...the Dinan software is awesome. I may go ahead and get their CAI to even out the package but it is costly at about $500 I believe. I am about to mod my brakes with either slotted or cross drilled discs and painted calipers (want maroon but nobody has it so I'll probably settle on silver or black) and I am thinking of the Sirrus Sat module and maybe event the TV module over at Bimmernav or EAS next. Don't know as I don't want to mod it up then sell/trade it...the Cayenne is calling me sometimes! :) LOL

I ran the Remus without the x pipe for months... but eventually got around to installing it. The sound is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :zoom: better but not much louder, which is fine.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on this one as I'm getting a remus but I dont want any welding done to the car. All mods must be reversible. I had the dinan welded onto the 330 and it was a pain in the ass to get back to stock.... oh well gotta pass on this awesome mod... if only it was bolt on like the remus...

iPhone mount added!

Mount for iPhone added this week:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...f/DSC01742.jpghttp://www.speckproducts.com/files/i...17488-full.jpg

Picked up the ProClip mount from Tom at EAS. Some modification was required to allow the Speck holding bracket to fit with the proclip. (the Speck holder is made for a belt clip) It also easily rotates 90 deg. :http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=183

manonskisjr 12-29-2007 09:54 AM

I guess you wont be needing that old iPod anymore considering your iPhone probably holds 3x the songs as that old one.

Huh? The older iPod is a 30 gig and the iPhone is only 8 gig. Also the latest iPods are not fully compatible with my dice setup, so I don't use it for music in the X5. I mostly use a 60 gig video iPod for my multimedia needs!

I've read there is a 5 ~7% HP gain. Yes, the sound is deeper and sounds a bit better to me than stock, especially with an x pipe. Check out the sound clip on my userpage.
