? about tranny replacement
Good Day X5 World,i'm having my tranny replaced on a 01'X5 4.4 by dealer. On previous vehicles that i've owned through the years that have had trannies replaced the cars just were never quite the same which ultimately led to their sale. Has anyone on this board had their tranny replaced and if so what was your experience with your vehicle afterwards?
|
Had mine replaced under warranty. Haven't had any problems with the new/refurbished one. I think Kirk had his replaced as well.
|
What was your mileage at time of replacement and how was the shifting and power afterwards?
|
My X5 is at stealer too for tranny replacement. Let's see how it goes..It's a 2002 with 69K miles... BMW is covering it although it was out of warranty...Nice...(But very bad that it died at so lesser miles)
|
Had mine rebuilt at 120km (72k miles).
It drives just like new but goes into safe mode every now and then. When I find my keys I have to take it back in. But the power and shifts are the same when it works. |
yop i had mine replaced at about 40k miles i think. the car runs as good as ever...

I just got my X5 back with its tranny replaced. No complaints so far. It runs like it was before. I checked it with stealer. it's remanufactured though.

I have a 2000 323i that had to replace the tranny at 49K (sept 06). It was a rebuilt and purchased from a BMW dealer and installed by an independent tranny shop. The car shifts smoother but it wasn't a radical difference from the original. The original had a blow reverse gear.
