X5 4.4 died on startup
 

It sounds major to me... I started the car and it sounded like the engine ran in backwards??? I shut it down immediately and now it sounds like there is no compression. Does anybody here know if these engines can throw a timing chain?? Or can they actually start and run backwards before bending valves. I hate to think of the cost!!!

Could be anything..get it checked out and hope for the best.

I have booked a tow to take it to my local dealer...would be nice if somebody had experienced similar...might be able to put me more at ease???? At the moment, I am thinking $$$$$$$$$$$$

After leaving the X5 in the garage for two days,it wouldn't even crank,it was just clicking.We checked the battery and everything.It turned out it was a broken key.
