X5 3.0 Engine Serpentine belt & a/c V-belt change need advice

 Does anyone knows or have any recomendations as to how to replace those engine belts including the tensioners before they go bad?
My X5 2001 has 68,000. miles. However, the only problem I have is like a bearing loud noise when is cold only and I think is from the tensioners or a dried belt which I would like to replaced as precationary. If you have any pictures or drawings of the engine that shows the belts and the pulleys location display would be greately appreciated.

Do I need any special tools? Is it a good idea to replace the water pump at the same time? How many parts should I replace other than the belts while I am there?

Did you check out the DIY(do-it-yourself) section? How way miles on your X? As stated on many of the threads here, the water pump on average gives out between 60-80,000 miles. If yours falls into this range, there is an excellent aftermarket water pump with stainless steel impeller (BMW's is plastic, which is why it fails. Why plastic? Damned if I know. It sure isn't an attempt at weight reduction) Anyway, it's only available for your 3.0. Myself and other V8 owners are stuck with the OEM part.
