Value of Sport Seats
 

I have a full set of sport seats (front and rear), brand new, that I want to sell but I have no idea of what price to ask. From BMW the front seats are $4,000 each!! They are the grainy leather that is different than the smooth leather that is in my 4.6is. They really are beautiful. I picked them up with then intent of replacing my 5 year old interior but have decided to sell them.

Is the rear sport seat any different than a regular back seat? Where would a part number be located on them?

Anyone know what to ask for them (front and rear)???

there is no difference in the rear seats other than leather and heating, whether or not you have sport.

astroboy is selling his set of used ones for ~$1500, so i'd think you'd be reasonable to ask for $2000 for new ones

Thank you for the reply... I believe Astroboys are regular seats. The ones I have are sport seats.

i would love to have some new seats but i think having black seats in the front and cream colored seats in the back might look odd.

how can someone tell if they have sport or regular seats?

sport seats have a more voluptuous shape. the seat bottom isn't flat and the headrests are more triangular than round

Sport seats have the little bolster at the front under your thighs. It can be pulled out for more/less seat room.

Oh also, correct me if I am wrong, but arent the sport seats more firm than the regular ones?

Key distinguishing feature is that you can extend the front of seat for more thigh support. Very helpful in long drives. Notice the handle at the front bottom in pics posted by 2002Silver4.6is.

On a somewhat related note-I refuse to own a BMW without sport seats. To me they are just so much better than the standard seats. Recently when I was still searching for an X5, if an '00-'01 model did have the sport seat option it was instantly discarded as a choice. Luckily I found an '02 so the sport seats are standard with the sport package!

what airbag/warranty ramifications (if any) would ensue with this tempting oppurtunity for the bsm/blk x i'm looking at whose only problem is no sport seats... :drool:

Let me know if you are interested. The seats are for sale. The price is $2,999 for the two front seats and $1,490 for the back seat. I will entertain any offers. If no one buys the entire back seat I will consider parting them out. I will post them in the for sale section for a little while then put them on Ebay.
