cigarette lighter
 

My cigarette lighter in the main console is dead. I have checked the fuse and it was okay..

It does look worn a little bit. Has anyone heard of it just going out? Or has anyone replaced one or went into the console to troubleshoot..

Any suggestion welcomed.

In the console. The accs plug in. Not for smoking, right?

sometimes the tabs inside the socket get bent out and dont complete the circuit. also you can see the wire connectors to the socket if you take out the shifter trim maybe ones off.

i have the same problem in my 05 x5 3.0.. I can get power from the cigarette lighter in the front and back.. but when i actually put the cigarette lighter adpater in to light it up it doesnt heat

You do know about the spare socket up high in the passenger footwell, right?

Hi all, just new to this so here goes,

I have a X5 3.0D Sport 2003. When I got the car from new the Bluetooth worked fine, it still does with the old fone I had back then ( still have in a draw ) anyway now NOTHING will get the car to enter pairing mode ( even the dealer cant get it working ) anyway I noticed that the cigarette lighter in the front and back are dead ( DEFO NOT THE FUSES ) and the fone will not charge from the cradle either.

All other power outlets are working fine ( passenger console and boot )

Any Ideas!!!!!
