Afe on 4.4

Hello people, just got my AFE CAI today, got it used (thank god for Ebay) at less than half price, I felt like a little kid when I got it and I wanted to install it right away but it's raining (dammit).
Anyway, I was reading the install instructions and it tells you to disconnect the negative batt. terminal, did anyone do this?
It's a pain to get to the battery.
I'll post pics when installed just for the hella of it.

i believe it's to reset the ECU, but i'm pretty sure that the ECU
will correct itself after driving around a bit.

I installed mine last summer with battery connected. No problems

Ok gang, I installed the filter, I took it for a drive and I wasn't impressed at all, maybe a little more growling but no much different than before as far as more HP I couldn't tell.
I had a little problem trying to figure out what to do with the little filter which is supposed be attached to the carbon canister, I ended up hooking it up to the hose coming out of the canister, there were no instructions on how to hook it up when I checked out the AFE website.
Well maybe my mpg will be better, good thing I bought it used.

hmm... most seem to be dissapointed with the AFE CAI, makes me not want to get it :(
