Help! CPO problem with 2001 X5
X5 2001 3.0 Model, Delivery date: 07/05/01, Mileage: 65,800
Am I covered by CPO warranty? 1. If I am covered,, when will expire? 2. If about to expire, should I buy an extended warranty? 3. What issuer would you recommend? WarrantyDirect: www.warrantydirect.com or CretifiedCarCare: www.certifiedcarcare.com or other else? Your opinions have great value to me! |
You are only covered by the CPO warranty if the vehicle was bought from a BMW dealer that sold it through the BMW CPO program. If it was CPO'd then it should be covered up to 100,000 miles.

IF you have a BMW authorized CPO warranty, you are covered
by that CPO warranty, (not quite as comprehensive as the orig. warranty), but even if you have one, it will expire probably in July '07, as CPO is only good for "100K miles" or 2 years whichever comes first. As your '01 only had a 4 year orig. warranty, even a CPO deal is expiring in July of this year. Otoh, it sounds like you don't have a clue...head to closest Stlr and have them run your key, or check your paperwork. When you get the bad news on no CPO, Warranty Direct does offer an extended warranty, in some states, to some cars that have an expired oem warranty, but it ain't cheap and not a 100% safety net.
