Borla Exhaust for E53 X5

Hey guys. Well after a good amount of requests @ Bimmerfest this past weekend in Santa Barbara, CA, a little birdie told me that Borla might be looking to produce a cat-back system for the E53 X5.

Now I've got a few questions for you guys.

Would you guys buy it?

If so, how much would you guys be willing to pay for one?

Any additional comments would be appreciated as well.

If it's cheaper and sounds close or better compared to the SS exhaust with quality then why not...

borla's are real nice, i would get one if it's less expensive than an eisenmann race (see link, courtesy of LeMansX5) and they use the same quality materials and offer the same warranty... group buy possibility??

Yes, I would buy a Borla!!! I would pay in line with what they charge for other exhaust systems.

The Borla for the Cherokee SRT-8 is $1,300 and $1,500 for the Range Rover. I guess it would be in that range. If they do make it I would hope they would offer the 4.6 / 4.8 oval tips.

I have a Borla on my Vette and love it;
it was $700 though, not $1300-$1500.
I realize there is more length and "plumbing"
involved, but, Whew...

I also had it on my 350z. I loved the sound.

I had no idea they were that pricey, why not just get an Eisenmann for a couple hundred more!!

I doubt they will offer it with the oval tips as they currently do not offer that style on any other exhaust that they make. We'll see though. I'd like to see oval tips too.

Yeah i have had two Borla system and been very happy with both. I would buy one for sure on my X5!

preppy 05-08-2007 05:09 PM

Considering the Remus for the x5 can be had for between $1100-1400 new, I'd assume that Borla would have to play within (or even lower, I won't complain) to be able to get a good foothold in the market.

With that being said. I would heavily consider a Borla if it came down to Remus or Borla.

Do it Borla. Make us a catback system :)
