SUCCESS!!!: What's the Best Way to Remove Tailpipe Tips?
 

I'm trying to remove my sport tips to put on chrome ones but I cannot figure out how to remove them.

I know there's a groove on the tip to be held by the actual exhaust, but it's really on tight...

Anyone have a suggestion? and anyone want black chrome sport tips for a 3.0? :)

If they are like the chrome tips from the dealer, then they are held on with a a screw. Once the screw is removed, the tips should slide of. Might need to move them around, but they should come of. How much for the black tips? Add some pics.

Mine slid right off just twist clockwise/counterclockwise while lightly pulling out. If you can get some WD-40 in there it will make it easier, but it might be a tough angle. Use the WD-40 on the exhaust to get the new tips on and they should slide right on.

Yep, follow this thread, it worked for me. I wouldn't try the plier method, just be patient, keep working at it, and they'll come off. It takes more force than you might think.
