Treo 700p/ bluetooth help
 

Can anyone help with info on the Palm 700p and bluetooth... I had to replace my palm 650 after it broke, but prior to that it worked just fine with the X5's bluetooth.

I can't get the 700p to add the x5 to its list of devices even though it "sees" the X5 when I try to "add device". I did a search of the forums but didn't find help. Has anyone linked a 700p with their x5 successfully??

What happens when you go to add the device? Try doing a soft reset on your palm prior to entering your X5. Then go through the pairing process and it should work. The connection seems to get corrupted when you turn your bluetooth off and turn it back on to use it, so you have to delete the trusted device, do a soft reset, then pair it again.

Try again and again until it cooperates. That's what i had to do til it worked. Now it work's well in my 2005 except other folks find it hard to hear me. Conclusion? A blue tooth ear device for me is gonna be a better option.

speaking of which...I just paired my blackberry pearl and it works fine. The only thing is that it does not show the amber led's on the top right of the NAV display to show it is connected to the vehicle (even though it is). What's stranger is that when I place a call, the green led lights up to indicate an active call. Weird?!

I don't think the amber LED should light up if the phone is fully compatible with the X5's bluetooth. My previous phone was on the compatibility list and never had the amber LED on, whereas with the 700p, it's not fully compatible and the amber LED is on. I think I remember reading somewhere that that the amber LED indicates that bluetooth is connected with an alternate system.

I had a PDA/phone (XV6700) that paired ok, but no one could hear me. Martin at Bimmernav even swapped out the microphone for me. Still didn't work. I picked up a RAZR and it paired right up and worked perfectly right off the bat. The phone can make all the difference in the world.

that's interesting, I didn't think about that. My previous phone was a Moto V551 and the amber's were always on and worked fine. Either way I don't care, I LOVE handsfree!

Sorry to steal the thread but are there any good (free) programs, skins, games for Treo 700p.
