air suspension sagging on driver side rear

haven't been driving the car much, thought I had a flat tire at first. Pumps itself up to normal ride height (was sagging on driver side rear) until i turned the key and it leveled itself. Is something busted or is this normal?

One of the level sensors may be bent.

why does it pop right back up when i start the car? my pops said it has always done this since he can remember.

You have an air leak in one of the lines. Follow the lines from the air tank to the side thats sagging. Check for a hisssing sound. When it sits it loses pressure, once started the air compressor build up enough to raise it back up. It will most-likely cause premature failure on the compressor since it will run more the normal to make up for the leak.

man, i'm starting to wonder what isn't going to break on this car.

ok it seem to be doing this every time now, wtf. Is this hard to fix? my buddies air suspension on his old land rover went bad and he just replaced it with a fixed suspension. What are my options here and how much $$$$ to fix.

I guess I will check it for air leak, is it hard to replace/fix the faulty line? If not is the bent sensor hard to replace?

indy mech thinks it's the air bag that inflates to raise the suspension. He says he has been seeing them go left and right especially on the older x5's. Said the part is about 250 and about 2.5 hours of labor so about 500 in change total to fix it.

I have yet to check the lines but he said the compressor, lines and airtank are usually fine in these cases.

Gonna get a price quote from Crevier for this part. Anyone done this job before?
