Front control Arm Bushings.....
 

2002 BMW X5 3.0 110,000 miles

I was experiencing a vibration in front end....when the vehicle was put on lift and steering wheel held at 3 and 9 o clock and rocked the tire the cotrol arms gave a little play...Took vehicle to BMW TOWSON Dealer diagnosed "Front control Arm Bushings" need to be repaired...

He recommended replacing 2 Wishbone(31-12-6-760-276)($349.38 each) and 2 hex nuts(21-12-1-092-107) at a cost of (parts and labor)...$920.80 (2hrs labor)....If i am ordering do i just ask for these parts or do i need to ask for control arms also?

I want to order parts and repair without seeing the dealer..Am I messing any more parts for this repair

Dealear also diagnosed Powersteering pressure line needs to be repaired...
2 Rubber mount(31-12-6-769-715) and 2 hex nuts also.
Cost....(labor and Parts)....264.60

DME Relay repair $193.15

Thermostat and Water Pump were quoted as being (labor and parts)...$621.58 (3.8hrs labor)

Can anybody offer any suggestions or feedback....Diagnosis alone cost $400.

$920 for replacing the arms? OMFG

I bought the arms (aftermarket) on ebay for approx. $100 , I took it to my mech he put it them on in about 15min.......it's been 3 months since and they work great.
