For those with running boards...

What are the pros and cons you have experienced so far? Is it convenient or a nuisance? I like the look...but not if it's not necessary.

I have them, i think they look great. Ba
d news is I wear a suit to work and you need to make sure they are clean as it's hard not to rub your calf on the way out.

You asked for opinions....
I think they look great. I added them, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I step over them when I get in and out, so I don't really have a problem with getting a dirty pants leg.

Functionally, I give them a 2 of 5 stars. Not that practical for entry/exit unless you are short.
For cleaning the roof, packing a roof top carrier, etc... 5 of 5.
Appearance, I give them 5 out of 5.

I really don't have any cons to report after having them for 2+ years.

I agree. Hardly ever use them except to get to the roof or when jumping over a puddle after parking. However still nice to have.

I also agree, they are more form over function. They do look good though.

As has been said above, they are useful for getting at the roof. As I'm 2 metres tall I don't need them to get in and out, but SWMBO is only 1.5 metres she needs them to get in and out.

Combined with mudflaps they do keep some of the dirt off the sides too.

I have also found that they protect you from other car doors hitting your paintwork in certain situations, plus as said, cleaning the roof is a whole lot easier with them.....

Cheers

Think they look nice. I don't use them to get in and out of the car. My wife who's 5'1" use them occassionally to get in and out.

I would add them again!

i'm just an inch taller than your wife and i don't use them at all to get in and out.

i was cringing last month when my car was being detailed and the guy used them as a stepping ladder.

it's not a tahoe...those RB's are just for show, but i was polite and prayed they didn't crack.

anyways, i LOVE the look and have no cons.

They look great. Simply are not real running boards. Not really wide enough. Look at a Navigator. Now thats a running board! If just for looks, go for it.
