warning sticker removal
i have 2 questions actually
1) How should i go about removing the warning stickers on the visors 2) now that summer is here i need to buy a new beach permit...what should i use to scrape the old one off. I know these questions are rediculous but i dont want to screw up the car |
For the visor, I just used a blow dryer to soften up the warning decal and then picked/peeled it off with tweezers. Some people also use Goo Gone or Goof Off to get residual adhesive, if any.
Scrape the old beach permit off with a new razor blade. Be careful! |
wd40 will dissolve residual glue left on plastics or metals with ease. It will stain fabric anf rubber.
|
I used rubbing alcohol with cotton balls. Just do not rub. Dab at it and let it do the work. Then pick the sticker off.

All these years after I bought my X5 I never took that sticker off hehe. I'll try these methods.

it is pobably the least expensive mod ever

Minimal, minimal evidence that the sticker was there. I sat there for 20 minutes with a damn blow dryer and it did nothing!!
It "pilled' the slightest bit. I thnk that is because I rubbed a little bit too much. That is why I mentioned to dab at it rather than rub..... |
I used paint thinner with great results. Apply to small sections, let it soak in and gently scrub it off with a 3M abrasive pad. No discoloration, no evidence it was ever there. If the beach permit is on glass, use a razor blade. Good luck
