Little Black box
 

Hey guys, Just traded the E46 for a 01 X5. i have never worked on one before so i have a lot to learn. My first question is, i was looking under the truck in front of the RF tire. There is some little black box attached to the (i think) the lower control arm. It looks like its attached with a very small sway bar end link. Does anybody know what this is!?

Could it be for headlight levelling or suspension levelling? I think its to detect the loading of the car and provide the data to the relevant parts of the on board systems.
