Check Engine Light: Instant Turn-Off?

I have had a camshaft position sensor error.

I just switched the exhaust. Light is still on.

I am going to go for the Intake now.

Should the light turn off instantly or do I have to drive it a bet?

Generally the light will take some time to reset itself. Alternately you can use an OBDII interface to reset it yourself and if there is still a fault then the light will come back on.
