x5 stall

Hey everyone, my X5 stalled twice yesterday. Once when I was backing up and again when I was driving through my gate. I am not sure what I can do to stop this. I run shell 91. Any suggestions?

Mine has done this a number of times, never in reverse though. I know this is a common problem based on searches, no one ever came up with an answer that I know of. I called my SA and the first thing he said was the idle air control valve. Has anyone changed this to fix this problem?

I'll bet it's the ignition switch.

My X stalled - and after investigating I found that the throtle body tube/Plastic tube was loose - I had had the radiator replaced a couple weeks back - I just figured they left it like that - never again has it stalled.

So I would check for loose connections, battery?

I was having this problem a couple of weeks ago, and it turned out to be a faulty cam sensor.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not very good at locating and checking things. There is no check engine light, and car runs normally. Could this be because of the heat? It was 113 yesterday.

CPS does not throw the light always. 113 is nothing.

mine stalled as i was going less than 5 mph to park in a plaza. as I was turning and let go of the gas to slowly go in a spot, it suddenly died. i thought for sure it was the battery but i turned off ignition and turned it back on and it was fine.

never stalled on me again after that 1 time....

Was there not a software update for this some time ago.
Also CPS replacement is on the home page.
