bumpy ride
I just purchased a 2001 x5 4.4i with 20" wheels. After noticing my two kids bouncing up and down in the back seat while driving on bumpy interstate bridges or bumpy roads, I am wondering if this is the way all x5's ride. They thought it was fun. I had 3 adults in the back seat yesterday and they bounced around on bumpy roads as well. Kinda embarrassing for me. I have the air suspension and any help would be greatly appreciated.

The sport package is always a rough ride. How high are your tires inflated?

my 2006 4.4i with 19" rims and Sport..(not even 20") rides very stiff. Its normal for the Sport Suspension and it dosn't get better with a newer model. I actually enjoy its firm (but not un-comfortable for me) ride of my X5 as my E60 rides way too soft for a BMW IMO.

Change your 20" rim to 17" or 18" and as well as proper tires. You will get smoother ride. My X was equipped with 19" rims and tires (sports package), I change them to 17" rims and 235/65/17 tires and have the tires pumped to 30 psi. Really comfort ride and good gripping!
