Intake question? PLEASE HELP!!!

So I am one of those lucky X5 owners who's intake box squeals at low speeds and acceleration. Getting no fix from dealer, they say that its working fine and its just loud when sucking in the air. I am thinking of maybe changing out my intake. I have looked online at DINAN High Flow Cold Air Intake System For about $700 and then I found AFE cold air intakes for a third of the price. My question is will this fix my issue with the squealing sound? If so, does any one recommend any that they have purchased. Not trying to spend a boat load of $$$$, just want the damn squealing noise to go away and wouldnt mind a little growl under the hood. Please help!

**2003 X5 3.0i** Thanks in advance

I dont mind as long as it drowns out or stops the squealing!

I have an AFE CAI. It works great. At WOT it makes a great sound. Performance is much better at low and mid range. You will like it. Plus I'm getting better fuel mileage. I have a 4.4i was doing 15 in city and highway, now I'm doing 16.5 to 17 city and highway. Its worth it and it pays for itself after a while.

Do you think it will stop the squealing I am currently hearing? They "BMW" said it was the intake box and this does replace that. What would be a total pirce shipped to 20147?

Thanks!

Do you have the pro 5 oiled filter or the or the pro dry S one?

Pro 5 oil. When you order the CAI, it comes with everything you need. It comes with the intake track, filters, hoses, clamps, and directions. Good Luck.

its not really that loud right? Im sure it adds some noise but not too loud right?

Tom G. 07-13-2007 07:29 PM

We offer both, most people prefer the oiled versions.
