Exhaust LEAK HELP
 

When I start my car in the morning I notice a puttering sound from the front. It sounds like it comes from the exhaust manifold or maybe where the front of the cat bolts on. HAs anyone had similar problems on a 01 x5 4.4? If anyone knows how to access this area please let me know. I was thinking I might have to take off the the inner wheel well plastic cover?

Just take it to an exhaust shop like Meineke and have them look at while it's on a lift.

Did that. They couldn't find the leak because the car was too hot.

whats the best way to get to the manifold, under the car or through the front wheel well?
