Oil leak

1 Attachment(s)
Had the X parked in the garage for 2 weeks while away on holiday and when I pulled her out noticed these oil stains on the floor.
The coin is a UK pound coin (slightly smaller than a US quarter in diameter).
The leak spots are about 50-100cm in from the middle of the front bumper
Was last parked in the garage in April for a week and no signs of any oil leak then.
Had it's first oil service since then (end May). Had not noticed anything before now because I usually park her in the driveway which consists of porous paving blocks.
What could cause this and would it be worth getting it checked out?

Hum! that is low mileage to have an oil leak. I would rule out valve covers gaskets at that low mileage. Could be a leak from the oil breather.

Sump bolts.... Mine were only finger tight, after taking it back to the dealer twice to have it rectified it was fine for about a month or so then it reappeared back I went, same thing, OK for a month. I now know they only wiped off the oil.

In the end I investigated the cause just removed the bash plate, and nipped up the bolts around the sump (some needed a full few turns as they were very loose). 10mm socket and extension bar is what you need for the sump bolts, and I think 16 or 17mm socket for the bash plate. Easy job. Just don't go mad with over tightening the 10mm bolts. Now 6 months on not a sign of oil.

Bugger the dealer.... Once my warranty is up it's bye bye dealer.

I had front wheel bearings replaced they told me they need to 'glue' the wheel hubs together !! I said you mean lock-tight ?? Ah yes he says.

Ever since, I have pictured someone with a tube of super glue.

Was down to a leaking sump gasket (which the dealer did not have in stock, so I need to book it in for another day)

I was going to say it could be the oil plug washer.

Would the sump gasket be something that could be damaged during an oil change?

Just want to know in case the dealer wants to charge me, because the leak only started after the last oil service and if it was damaged then, then surely I should not have to pay for it.

Is the sump gasket not covered under warranty?
