Is the Peake the *tool* to get
As the X is OOW, and I need to just do regular resets on the maint. computer in addition to reading out codes, is the Peake tool the one to get or are there any other models to consider.
SECOND, this is more a technical-mechanical question, but how can I check if the X is operating at correct temp ? |
I can recommend the Peake tool. They are designed exclusively for BMW's. You do know you can reset the service lights without a tool? At least I can on my 01' 4.4.
As for the operating temperature, my temperature gage has never wavered off of dead center no matter what the outside temperature or load was. I know this is not an absolute number, but I hope it helps. |
I use the Peake tool and a standard OBDII tool in harmony together. Sometimes they will find codes the other couldn't. Seems strange; but, it's true. After i straightened out the problems with starting, I haven't needed to use either tool. Knock on wood.
If I had to chose one it would be the Peake tool. |
