having the same problem. I had to put everything back together and continue driving until I find a puller or someone else to do this job.

will this tool work?

It will work for removing the arm off the ball joint but, not the ball joint from the knuckle. Best bet is to take the knuckle out and get the ball joint out with a BFH and a long heavy duty center punch.

On my "03 I removed the balljoints with a 3/8" drift that is about a foot long. Soak first with your favourite liquid for 48 hours and then take the brake off. Takes a bit of patience but after hammering about 20 minutes it came out. You have to hit from above going around th CV joint.

If you don' like using a BFH then leave this job to a shop. :-)
