Freakin' Angel Eye Flashin'
OK folks, I need some assistance. I've got aftermarket AE's in my '03 4.4i that were working fine until one day (don't know what happen) my passenger side AE started to flash/pulsate. This is when the remote is activated or when the acc is on/truck is cranked. It will then pulsate with the music; getting bright when a bass note hits and dimming otherwise. After about 10 mins of driving, I can park, shut the truck off, and it will be fine. once I lock the doors (remote is OFF) and unlock the doors (remote switch back ON) it will start to flash again. I've tested power from the battery post in the front, before and after the fuse, after the relay to that AE and to the driver side AE; power appears to be constant with the tester and not fluctuating. Im thinking that the ballast associated with that AE is going out. Im considering buying a set off ebay, splicing out the current ballast and putting in a new one. Any thoughts on this or where my problems are?
Thanks, Krypto |

somewhat... but randomly and with the music :bmw:... But seriously, any got any pointers or advice in this area?

mine did that before they completely went KAPUT!
i was told by JLEVI that i need to uninstall them and send them back before he can send out new rings. not to mention my ballasts only lasts about two months (if that!) before that goes too. i wish i didn't LOVE this mod so much... |

So now you have to open your headlights twice to re-do the mod? |

my rings, imo, are SHOT. but he didn't want to hear that part... |
My drivers side Ballast just went yesterday Luckily I ordered a set for my Z3 that I have yet to install and used the ballast from that, then the one angel eye on the passenger side would not turn on !! What the@#&$^% but after restarting the car they all worked so I will just cross my fingers!
Note that these are from Blackbox on ebay only cost me $62.00 for each set so no worries just a pain. Sad part is I've only had mine for 3 months and my X5 is not my daily driver.....Although These are Identical sans the confusing wiring harness Jlevi kits come with. |
