X5 sluggish after oil service...
It's strange but my X5 is very sluggish with power after regular oil change service at Stealer. It seems like they took out its horses. The turbo thing is missing. If i start at light, it no longer takes off like a jet. Any ideas on what and why this is happening ??? They changed the oil and filter without resetting the indicator as it still had two green(s) left but was over an year since last oil change. They also balanced and aligned its tires. That was all. Please let your two cents come in......

Well, first of all, what "turbo thing" is missing???? Second, check to see the oil level in the engine. There might be very little oil. Next, check the Maf sensor, the air intake, make sure everything is plugged in and tight. Did they do any flash upgrade on the tranny???

With 'Turbo', i meant the the great pickup that X5 has as compared to and all other crappy SUVs there in the market. Good tips though. I'll check oil level, and air intake etc. this evening. No they didn;t do any tranny upgrade, as far as i know.

No turbo on these cars. I have thought about it though; it wouldn't be too difficult. Just throw one big T70 or something on right after the merge collector. Big fat downpipe.

igosal try this: Simply turn the key to position 2. Hold the accelerator to the click point for 25 seconds. Let go of the accelerator, start the engine and off you go... maybe that will help?

Just curious as to what that would do? To hold the accelerator?

It clears the X5's memory of the drivers acceleration habits. Do a search for more info:thumbup:

Didn't know that, nice one. I'll try that, do you think I should have done that when I put in the CAI???
