so..extended warranty is worth it...
 

Hi,

I was offered either the powertrain or all included extended warranty program.

In Canada, these are the prices ( 3 years / 60 000km) added to life of car.

Powertrain ; $2800.00
All included ; $3400.00

My car already has 64 000km, it is a 2003 3.0i. I am the second owner and nothing major has ever happeend to the car. On the 2 coil packs have given out. the rest is all esthetics, rain sensor, molding, motor mirror, microswitch, and other small issues.

The catch is that my dad has a auto repair shop. Even though, do you believe it is worth it or do we do the repairs oursleves, as we have always been doing? Even though we do the labor ourselves, the parts, even at our discount, can easily go to the thousands.

But nothing else. No transmission, no engine, no AC failure...

just get the power train warranty. that will cover the big ticket. you dont know if you will ever use it or not, just get it. give yourself peace of mind when it comes to the engine, transmission and differential parts. with other stuff, you can do it at your shop and save the labor charge which bmw dealer "income" comes from.
