Took the X5 on it's first road trip.

Well the X handled the task superbly as I knew it would. It hauled me, my wife and our dog (along with all our crap) from Maryland to the Northern Territory of Vermont, about 540 miles away. The X did great and the ride was beautiful. In Vermont I saw no other X5's and not even a BMW dealership. In fact, I only saw 5 X5's on my trip up and back.

We rented a house on Lake Fairlee with 500 feet of waterfront along with a dock, beach, 3 kayaks, 1 canoe, 1 row boat and a pontoon boat. Not to mention the floating dock with a slide and diving board! The weather was beautiful, which is more than I can say for the weather I'm now in back home.

Here are a few shots:

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Wow, that looks like a great time! That is the perfect hookup for a nice relaxing weekend. I just love that dog :D

Awesome! Did you go up I-91? There are some nice spots in Northern MA and VT where you can 'push it' a bit if there are not any cops around :D

Beautiful area up there, did you inquire as to how much homes go for up there?

Beautiful scenery!! Looks like "On Golden Pond"

Glad to hear the X5 treated you well on the journey!!

what camera are you using looks good!

Thanks all. We actually left last Saturday at 6am and were in VT 7 hours later. Yes, we did take I91 all through Mass and VT. I used to go up there all the time when I was growing up, but the wife hasn't been so she finally got to see what "country" really looks like. :)

House prices are similar to down in MD if you're looking for nice lake frontage. The house we rented was about 2 million or so considering the 500 feet of waterfront and the fact that the owner also owned an entire stable an pasture on the opposite side of the house.

SuperGreg - yup the dog from little rascals was a american pit bull terrier, same as sasha. Although I believe he was white and they added the black spot ;) Sasha is a 45lb walking Gateway computer ad. She actually did really well on the ride up, slept the whole time.

imola4.8isWA - the camera is a Fuji FinePix E550 w/a 512MB card. (cool camera, does video with audio and has a 6.3 megapixel sensor which is sweet)

Great views, though Sasha did not seem impressed

 :bustingup
