2005 X5 4.4i Few Questions (long)

I have learnt a great deal from these forums - so thank you everybody to your contributions. Last week I went from a 2001 X5 3.0i to a 2005 X5 4.4i and it is a pleasure to drive. Love the new stuff - however had a few questions. I have 2005 X5 4.4i Sterling Greay/Black, Navigation, Premium, Cold weather, Servotronic, Heated Steering.

1. I installed the Sirius yesterday and followed the install for the antenna up in the spoiler using the BMW antenna and everything works perfectly. However, whenever I use the steering Up/Down buttons, the MID shows blank ( I keep the MID on current time) , I switch it back to Time and use the presets again via Navigation back and forth or steering up/down and it reverts to blank screen. Does not happen all the time - sometimes it stays on time only on new restart of the vehicle. Also, pushing 1-8 preset buttons does not make the MID display go away. Any clues to why?

2. I have an Old VR module from my 2001 which used to work great, I searched for the SES jumper plug on the new X5 as I was going to plug it in and there is not one to be found. Anybody know if the SES jumper plug is supposed to be there - I know that some people have gotten the full VR via the new module - so is the new module a different kind than the old one?

I have an 04 4.4 and my display goes blank when I use the steering wheel controls as well. The dealer has looked at it twice and cannot figure it out. They blame it on Sirius.
