Squeaking on the Passenger side of my 4.4

I just took my first trip in my 2001 X5 and noticed an incredibly annoying squeak coming from the right rear and passenger side of the vehicle. I thought it may have been a seat, but need to have someone drive it while I investigate.

Does anyone know what this is?

So it is def coming from the interior?

I have the same problem, at times my pass seat shacks on certain roads and bumps. Its freakin annoying. I took out the bolts and re tightened them back in. It seems to have stooped the squeaking sound, but I'm thinking I had to spray some lub on all parts where the squeak might have come from. Just a thought, it worked for me, so far no squeak again.

My 03 3.0i had that prob with the drivers seat. I took it into the stealer and they removed the seat and put some fabric tape between the places where metal was rubbing together. Fixed my prob. Here is the link to thread...

Could it be the leather? Some people have complained that the split seats rub against each other to create a squeeking sound. Try putting a towel between them and see if it goes away.

Other thought is it could be from inside the spare tire compartment. There are lots on little things that could rattle around back there. Good luck.

I found the problem

It was actually the sunroof where the noise was coming from. I've read a few items and this seems like a real pain in the ass. I'll take it to the stealer for diagnosis.
