How you replace the bulb (...)? lol

lol... most of us know the answer to this one, but thats not exactly what I needed to know,
I got 2 bulbs out in my left taillight and I was wondering if this is something you would take to the service and have them take care of it????
I called the dealership, I got an appointmet to get it done but in between gas, tolls and mostly waisted time I'd rather do it myself. What do you think about it, What would you do????

I would replace them myself but, if your not mechanically inclined then have someone help you that knows... OR PAY the dealer.

If it's under warranty of course i would. Last time i did this they replaced a socket as well.

Maybe I'm just a little confused  , the rear bulbs take less than a minute each to install. Why would you take it to the dealer for something that easy? Maybe I'm missing something here? :dunno:

Thanks Guys, that was my point... replacing them is a cake but since Im on the factory warranty I wanted to know what would you do,

Aimster 08-11-2007 09:15 AM

Don't really know what you are asking but I will give it a shot :)

A) It will not void any kind of warranty if you do it yourself

B) It probably is covered under warranty, but the trip to the dealership alone is going to use up the few bucks it will cost to replace them yourself. However, they might charge you for the bulbs so you just ended up wasting your day.

C) Try to avoid dealerships as much as possible IMO. Other people touching your ride, messing around with it, etc.

Actually your correct. In my case the fault light had come on but i never saw weather the bulb was out. So since the dealer is within my travels i just swung by pointed to the fault and one of their guys took 5 mins to replace the bulb "no charge". In the process of changing it he also noticed something else that needed replacing and did that as well. 10 mins later i'm on my way. I guess i'm just taking advantage of their customer service.
