rate your x5 4.8is: 1 to 10
hey all,
drive an m3 and thinking about getting an 4.8is...what would you all rate your 4.8is 1 to 10 (10 being best and 1 being the worst) thanks, evan |
9.1! I had a '02 M3 w/SMG and '03 M5 - hands down best SUV I've ever had and I love driving every day. Did not give a 10 since I had initial issues with Pano room - I havr 17k on my '04 and no issues since.

8.5
Great SUV, so-so BMW. I am seriously considering a move to a 5 series. It's been much more SUV-ish than I hoped it would be. Pleasure to drive - but its bizarre shift points and hard to evenly manage brakes leave a lot to be desired. |
Bah!
I give it a 9.8. For a few reasons..... I LOVE starting it every day. That RaWHUMP is to die for. I was hauling five passengers the other day in some "spirited" driving and obtained the respect of all passengers. They were truely impressed. It is the best looking wagon ( i say that in the best way possible ) out there. My one caveat, It deserves more POWER! at least 425. Ill have it there soon enough "insert mischievious grin here" Oh, and the stereo sucks.... but all in all it rocks. That and its a great family beater.... as close to a convertible that I could have until my son gets a bit older. |
thank you all for your honest replies...if it wouldn't be too much to ask, I was wondering if mileage (per gallon) could also be reported...thank you,
evan |
14 - 18
Cross country i was seeing 19-20, now with daily trips up and down the mountain i see around 14ish |
Probably the best car I have ever owned..
I rate it an 11. Is almost as fast as my Porsche, handles almost as well too. And you can fit groceries and a 3 passengers.. Not to mention it is very comfortable. What more could you ask for.. The only thing I could ask for is a clutch and a manual transmission. B |
I've only had it about a month, but I'd have to say 9. Mileage has been around 14. I think it has almost perfect balance of car-like performance and utility of a truck.

an 11! I have owned some pretty cool cars and i have to say this is one of my absolute favorites. Great ride, handling, sound, and fun factor. Only issue is power. Needs some more. Working on locating a supercharger so I can take care of the power issue. Other than that, the best SUV out there hands down. Including the Cayenne Turbo which I drive almost on a regular basis.

9.5. OF the trucks/SUV's/SAV's ive been in this the best one. I hate how the cayenne turbo looks but that thing hauls ass., Range Rovers are to slow but a tank in bad terrain. This has it all, its not to boxy, but then again its not bubbly, it has the power that it needs, and it has the handling that it needs not only on dry but wet payment also. The fun factor is prolly what i love bout it, its a BMW SUV(SAV), a crazy combo done nicely. :)
More power would not be bad at all. And maybe more of a "Slammed" look wouldnt hurt it lol. |
