aFe S1 Cold Air Intake for e53 X5 (3.0L)
Has anyone changed their Air intake on their X5 3.0, was there a considerable difference in power-sound?
I am thinking of installing this one...its around $225 http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1133 |
If you're looking for a deep sound above 4,000 rpm, GO for it! It's mainly just for sound and better air filtration, and not so much power. However you might gain a little top end power out of it, but lose some low end.

The X5 3.0 has good low-end torque, but it disappears when you get past 30-40mph.
Think this will help? |
Get one!

I got one about 6 months ago, the most noticable difference would be a slightly improved throttle responce, oh and the awesome sound it makes when you open her up. For the price I would say it was worth it, super quick install (ten minutes) and good qualty filter and housing.

Go for it. |
I installed one on my 06 3.0 manual and it's great. You can hear the induction system now when you get on it. I'm sure it helps power and mileage. Overall it's a great system.

I've had mine for awhile now, no complaints. Smoother ride, better sound, and I actually notice a better response both in the low end and high end torque
It's time to change out the filter for mine tho, haven't cleaned it in awhile..might as well just buy a new filter if it's cheap |
I took mine off, blew it off with compressed air and sprayed the element with WD-40. Still works great.

I've got an aFe Intake on my 3.0. I didn't notice any performance gains, but it does sound good @ WOT. I got mine @ cost through my work.
